When the moodboard for Sirens Song landed in my inbox I stopped in my tracks. Coco & Kat had stepped into my brain! To ardenive you some background as to who they are, earlier last year I photographed a beautiful wedding with Katrina Otter Weddings, she is such an incredible wedding planner, my goodness you’re in safe hands! Kat has now officially jointed forces with Emma from Coco Wedding Venues (be sure to check out her site if you’re venue hunting, it’s an invaluable tool). Together they are Coco & Kat and the master minds behind Sirens Song!
Rebecca asked me to photograph her branding shoot for the launch of Rebecca K Events. It was such a treat for me to walk into a shoot knowing absolutely nothing and seeing all of the amazing details that Rebecca had sourced. A luxurious aesthetic with soft pink hues and stunning tulle dresses (we all love tulle, right?!) It really was so inspiring!
Primrose Hill Farm oozes opportunity and it was the perfect backdrop for a four seasons shoot. I always feel theres a lot of pressure on couples to create a theme for their wedding day – whats your colour scheme is on the tip of everyones tongues. A seasonal direction creates a wonderful opportunity in my eyes. In a world where everything is available most of the year round, the four seasons would actually do you a favour. Using seasonal flowers and food is key to ensure that you’re not only avoiding spending unnecessary money where it wasn’t needed (by trying to get out of season flowers at a premium price!) but it would enable your suppliers to select the best quality for you as they will have the luxury of availability on their side.
Choosing your wedding day colour scheme is one of the biggest decisions you’ll have to make early on in your planning process. As soon as you’ve set your venue, colour scheme is up there on the list that requires a big tick! Knowing your colour scheme will make all of the other detail decisions easier – invites, flowers etc. Image: Diana McGregor If you’re still struggling – here is a guide that I found in Martha Stewart Weddings to help you!
BREAKING NEWS: Berta has come to the UK!! How lucky are we?! This is a brand that has taken the wedding world by storm with their fresh, bold and sexy designs. The cutting edge designs push the boundaries and don’t half turn some heads! Bridal separates are as big as ever and the laid back look is going to continue through 2017 (and beyond!). Think back to 2014 and Olivia Palermo’s wedding – the style sensation around her wedding day look is still evident today. This post is going to guide you through various options within this style. Don’t feel that you can’t have a two piece ensemble if you’re not having a boho wedding! You totally can!
Drum Roll for Pantone Greenery!!! A new year brings new trends and new colour ways. Pantone have released their fashion colour report for Spring 2017 and I for one couldn’t be more excited that greenery has made the cut.
This post is all about the best of 2016! I feel its important to celebrate, to reflect and take stock as another year closes. The main wedding season drew to a close a couple of months ago. However I have had some gorgeous winter weddings and been spending the slower pace concentrating on projects for 2017! I’ve created my #2016bestnine grid from instagram. It’s a strong mix of styled shoots, real weddings and my personal travels with an oh so dreamy colour palette. Have you created yours yet? Go to http://2016bestnine.com
It is common knowledge that finding one bridesmaid dress to suit all is almost impossible. Luckily, if this is your wish then companies such as Two Birds are a godsend with over 15 different ways to tie one dress! At a recent wedding at Soho Farmhouse all of the bridesmaids wore different dresses – they looked stunning so I thought I’d explore this idea more. Each girl had different body shapes, skin tones, hair colour and personal tastes….there was even a baby bump!
Light Catcher – Delicate Darkness were the outcome of two shoots on one day. With an amazing team consisting of stylist, Lucy Loves Bridal armed with multiple dresses from The Mews Bridal, Notting Hill plus dream duo Louise Seymour (MUA) and Jo Irving (Lovehair) we channeled our vision to create two contrasting looks.
