Real Weddings

Garden wedding at the brides family home in Putney.

Sophie & Chris hosted their English Country garden wedding at Sophie’s parents home in Putney, London. It really was the perfect setting for them. Now living in Portland in the US it was hugely evident how important family is to them and it was fantastic to see 2 families join and traditions merge to create a truly personal day.Brides Martina Liana dress and wedding shoes

The garden wedding

When having a home wedding there is always the temptation to become involved in the logistics on the wedding morning, however Sophie & Chris took a step back and wisely hired an ‘on the day’ wedding planner, Jenna Hewitt.

Sophie wore a beautiful Martina Liana dress which she purchased in Portland at The White Dress. She chose bridal separates which were sewn together – so clever!

With half of the guests having travelled over from he US, Sophie & Chris wanted to add an iconic London element to their wedding day and did so by using a Routemaster bus to transport the guests. The bride and groom had a super cute vintage VW Beetle to travel from the church to the reception.

The 8 bridesmaids wore the multiway dresses from Debenhams all styled in a different way.

After the ceremony at St Paul’s Church in Chiswick, I spent some time with them in the gardens of Chiswick House which provided the perfect backdrop for the bridal couple photographs.

The styling

The garden wedding was styled using a subtle colour palette with soft pink napkins, cream table linen and a touch of gold with the candles in the marquee.

The stunning floral archway to wow guests at the church, bouquets, button holes and table displays were all designed by the talented Liz from Blue Sky Flowers.

A special mention must got to Sophie’s sister, Chen who made that incredible wedding cake!
