Charlotte & Dilip hosted their classic wedding at the stunning setting of Christ Hospital, the boarding school that the groom attended. As a backdrop it really did have the wow factor!
Charlotte, a fashion designer, was able to create a stunningly classic wedding with the most amazing attention to detail. For more images and details, visit the feature on Rock My Wedding.
The bride chose to get ready at Tor Hatch, the most amazing house which housed all of her maids and parents. From a wedding photography perspective it was ideal as it was light, airy and spacious!
“I wanted everything to be white and quite minimal with a touch of romanticism. The invites, menus and order of service were textured white cotton card with gold foiled letter press. The envelopes were sealed with a white DC monogrammed wax seal which I also used on the confetti cones and cake boxes.”
“Dilip had attended Christ Hospital boarding school and we had discussed this being a contender for our wedding. We visited the school in February 2015 and as soon as I walked into the chapel I knew it was the place we had to get married. The emotional attachment he felt towards the school was very evident and I knew it would be very special to get married there.”
Guests were asked to wear black tie to add to the classic wedding look, with Dilip choosing to head to Savile Rows Gieves and Hawkes, he bought a very dark navy tux with a black lapel. His shoes were from Churches.
“I wanted a mix of white flowers- hydrangeas, orchids and roses mixed with green foliage. I had a mixed bouquet and the bridesmaids had a slightly smaller version of this. The table runners were hydrangea arrangements alternated with mixed posey arrangements. Helen (Bloom Room) created the wonderful floral arches from willow, hydrangeas, roses and orchids at the entrance and altar of the church.”
“I had decided on long banquet style tables with flowers and candle sticks running down the middle. In the year leading up to the wedding, I sourced 70 brass candle sticks from various antique markets and shops. I designed and hand wrote the signs, table numbers and name cards. The favour boxes were white laser cut boxes which were filled with hand made gourmet marshmallows topped with real edible rose petals.”
